CONNECTION WITH OURSELVES A GOOD REASON FOR A SIYANDA MASSAGE
I don’t believe that there is a therapy or activity on the planet that does so much for reconnecting us with the body as Massage. However, because of the sustained depth and non-invasive approach of Siyanda, what you are left with on the therapy bed is an opportunity to FEEL your body and your breath. It brings us into a “space’ where healing can happen. That’s why Siyanda therapists don’t do that irritating ‘chit chat thing’ during a Massage. Every time you talk during a Massage you are reducing the power, the effectiveness and the potency of your treatment.
For millennia, simply breathing and focusing on simple sensory stimuli has been the route to peace and even (on occasion) great wisdom. Perhaps the most important reason for giving yourself a Siyanda Massage is to simply slow down and connect with all of you. Only when we slow down and feel something simple like the ebb and flow of pressure on our back during the massage, can we begin to understand how we really are, how we are doing and where we are going. Of course this doesn’t happen in a cerebral sense, but in a ‘body sense’.
That is the reason at the end of your Massage, the technique of walking around the room, gives you the opportunity to assimilate all levels of your consciousness and even sub-consciousness and thus make a ‘connection’. You want to be able to say: “This is me. I know how I am. I know what I need and I know what I want.”
The here and now awareness that is obtained from the concentration on the breath is the only place where you can truly connect with yourself and your truth, whatever that is
The power of CONNECTION massage is nothing short of the power to know who we really are and where we are going in life. Having this strong connection your body means that you are able to take healthy measures before you get ill or sick.
Siyanda enables you to build a really strong relationship with your own body and release whatever is of no purpose anymore in the way of tensions, past traumas and stress on all bodily levels. These days, instead of illness, I do ‘tired days’. By knowing how I am really doing and resting on these days, I believe I manage to avoid illness. Whenever possible I try and choose the ‘chill pill’ over the ‘ill pill’ and it is a Siyanda Massage that actually helps me do this.
